Timothy Michael Mulligan
September 14, 1937 - May 31, 2021
Timothy Michael Mulligan, Sr., 83, died peacefully at his home in Lake Havasu City, AZ on Monday, May 31, 2021, with his wife by his side. He was born in Detroit on September 14, 1937, to the late Bernard and Helen (Funston) Mulligan, where he grew up and attend local schools, graduating from St. Joe’s High School. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Wayne State University in his 30’s while working full time and raising 5 proud boys. Tim proudly served in the United States Army from 1955-1959. He then spent 40 years, his entire career, working for Detroit Edison. He was a communicant of Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church. He had many interests, including golf, roller skating, gambling, investing and living out his Catholic faith. Tim is survived by his wife of 35 years, Mary Janet Sullivan Mulligan; his sons Timothy Mulligan, Jr. and his wife Ann of Dearborn, MI, Terrence Mulligan, Sr. and his wife Helen of Port Orchard, WA, Matthew Mulligan and his wife Diane of South Portland, ME, Kevin Mulligan of St. Clair Shores, MI, a stepson John Field of Arlington, TX, siblings, Patrick Mulligan of Shelby Township, MI and Kathy Mulligan Wright of Rochester, MI. He also leaves behind four grandsons, TJ Mulligan, Tim Mulligan III, Liam Mulligan and Joseph Mulligan, and four granddaughters, Rochelle San Nicolas, Katie DeBoever, Bridget Martin and Kelly Mulligan as well as 9 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his son, Martin Mulligan, sister Maureen Carroll and his former wife, Barbara Kroha Mulligan Wood. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place in Dearborn, MI and be announced later this summer.
